How would you describe your personal style?
It’s different depending on the day or where I am. Since I am a fashion major, I like to try out different things. I look at the trends, different styles I’m getting into, or brands I’m interested in at the moment to influence my style. But overall, kind of basic and chic, put together, and nothing too out there.
What made you want to be a fashion major?
Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to do fashion design, but I didn’t think I had the creativity to do it. But when it came time to decide my major, I realized looking at different collections, being in stores, and studying fashion made me happy. Also, I knew I wanted to do something creative since I’m an artsy person, and yeah, fashion it was.
How has your style changed since coming to Baylor?
It has definitely gotten more casual because that’s the fashion of the school. So, I kind of had to adjust to that. Also, because I have to walk around campus so much, I had to change up my shoes. I usually base my outfits off of my shoes, and I realized I couldn’t wear a lot of them since I am walking all the way across campus to get to class. I’ve been inspired by all the trends I see at Baylor too since there are so many different students from all over that come here.
What is one fashion item you cannot live without?
Definitely either a basic black or white t-shirt. My friends always make fun of me and say I wear the same shirt everyday, because with every outfit I wear, I’m probably wearing a black or white t-shirt. But that’s just because there’s so much you can do with it!
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go to get fashion inspiration?
I would say either New York or Paris. In Paris, where I’ve been to, it’s so nice because everyone is always dressed so well and similarly. Whereas in New York, everyone is trying to stand out and do something different, which is really interesting to see how people can get creative with clothing. In New York, it’s like everyone has the same garments, but everyone is trying to do something different with them.
