A Brave New Wardrobe: dusting off those unworn clothes
Everyone has those clothes they bought that give them serious buyer’s remorse. Either it’s not exactly how we envisioned it, or we’re scared it’s just too bold. I am here to tell you that it’s time to pull those things out of the closet and give ’em the chance they deserve.
My philosophy on fashion has always been simple: if you like it, wear it. Well, turns out, not everyone feels the same way. So many people feel like they are trapped in a little fashion box where they have a certain style they aren’t allowed to branch out from. But, hey, that’s not true. We have the freedom to dress and look however we want, so maybe it’s time to pull those crazy pants or colorful tops out of the closet and finally give them the fashion statement they deserve.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m right there with you. I have a pair of black shiny boots I’m rarely brave enough to wear. Even with an open mindset towards fashion, it’s hard not to get a little self-conscious with something out of our comfort zone. However, I think we could take the plunge together. I’ll wear my nerve-wracking black boots, and y’all wear whatever it is that has been haunting your closet for a while now.
So, let’s do it. Maybe it won’t be comfortable, maybe we’ll feel a little nervous, but I think it’s time for all of us to grab the opportunity for fashion freedom that’s right in front of us.
