Jasmine is frequently called quirky, and she’s rightfully proud of it. Her eye for color and modern style puts a twist on the mainstream. She’s only a sophomore but is already making waves when it comes to personal flair. Jasmine Crabb is this week’s So Hot Right Now.
How would you describe your style?
This is going to sound so cringey, but I get called quirky a lot. [Laughs] I’d say my style is a culmination of a bunch of styles I like but with my own personal twist. It isn’t necessarily set. I’m into modern trends and old school thrift. I love skater girl slash tomboy style, and I always add a feminine touch.
Where are your favorite places to shop?
Salvation Army here in Waco, and thrift stores in general. I think I’m the first person to say this on So Hot Right Now, but also Marshall’s. They have great deals!
What trends are you currently into?
I like taking something that’s in style now and adding to it. I’m all for high waisted jeans, and I have a pair that I painted designs on. Or I’m into combining two different looks and trying to make them not so basic [laughs]. I’ll throw a leather jacket over a girly tube top.
From where do you get style inspiration?
It’s hard to track down because my style is such a hodge-podge of everything. It’s really whatever I like, I think. I get told I look like Shay Mitchell sometimes, and I really like her versatility. She’s someone with great style.
What is one fashion item you could not live without?
I actually have three: my favorite thrifted belt that I got for 99 cents, hoop earrings, and my Nike Airs that I’m wearing now.
How has your style changed since coming to Baylor?
I’ve become so much more expressive! As a freshman, I was very conscious about what would others accept me in. Now I’m a sophomore, I feel like I’ve found my niche. I’m not afraid to wear bold tops and green pants like I am now.
What she’s wearing…
shirt: thrifted from Salvation Army in Houston, pants: thrifted from Salvation Army in Waco, shoes: Marshall’s male section, sunglasses: Romwe
