How has your style evolved throughout college?

This question actually makes me laugh a bit because I was voted “best dressed” in high school, and now I cringe at a lot of the things I wore. I have mainly just become more confident in my taste, and a good example of that is my Dr. Martens. I bought these in high school and was so afraid to wear them, so I hardly did. Now, every time I wear them to campus someone has complimented them, even a few of my professors, and it has made my day every time.

Hope Coleman

“I had an interest in fashion but not design,” said sophomore Hope Coleman when asked about her choice to be an Apparel Design and Product Development major. Her first love of styling, then later realization of skill and talent for the technical side of fashion, are what make this week’s SHRN one to keep an eye on. Coleman sat down with us at her sewing lab to walk us through her journey from being a style admirer in Pittsburg, Kansas to a designer at Baylor University.
